So I am finally feeling better. No more keto flu systems and my energy has increased drastically. I am still tired a little throughout the day (thanks chronic fatigue syndrome), but nothing like I normally was. I am sleeping better at night as well, which definitely plays into that. My fibromyalgia pain is nearly non-existent and I overall feel great!
I also definitely feel like doing this diet to reduce pain and inflammation rather than strictly for weight loss is helping me stick to it. Before when I had tried it, I had wanted to give up by this point, but I am still going strong.
I'll update more as I have more time.

That Keto Life
So I am back on the ketogenic diet. For those that don't know, I started the diet at the beginning of the year and had great success with it (losing 25 pounds in the first month alone). However, I ended up losing steam fast and went off the diet shortly after. At the time, I was only on the diet to lose weight and for no other reason, which I think is the reason I ultimately failed.
So fast forward to now. I have been on the diet for a week now. I am down 5.2 pounds. However, I wish I could say I feel great. I am currently in the "keto-flu" stage where my body is going through a sugar detox (I have a serious sweet tooth). I have an elevated temperature, my throat is swollen and hurts and I am cranky as all get out. On top of that, changes in diet can flare up fibromyalgia (which I have). My entire body hurts. It doesn't ache, it hurts. It's mainly in my back and leg joint areas. Nothing helps. I just pray for the day to come that my body gets used to this diet and calms the hell down.
On the good side, I do have more energy and I am sleeping better at night. I used to be tired all day long only to toss and turn all night. Now I am more energized and focused and am sleeping mostly through the night.
So all in all, I am seeing some good and some bad at the moment, but I am not giving up. I'll be updating regularly, sharing recipes and tricks I have learned and more, so stay tuned.
